Tue Jan 06, 2015 1:32 am

When i was looking to book a ticket on transero airlines(for 4 people) the price for all of us in economy was $154,000!!
Is this how transero works or is it a bug or anything else?

TIcket price: https://booking.transaero.ru/step2?selectedOriginAirport=DME&selectedDestinationAirport=SCO&routeSorting=DME%2CSVO&searchOrigin=SEARCH_HOMEPAGE&refreshDates=false&DIRECTION=SUBMIT&_eventId=submit&departureDateStart=&returnDateStart=&language=&departureDateStr=6+January+2015&returnDateStr=31+August+2015&numAdults=3&numChildren=1&numInfants=0&journeySpan=RT&origin=JFK&departureDate=2015-06-26&destination=MOW&returnDate=2015-08-31&searchType=NORMAL&cabinClassType=TOURISTECONOMY&oplata=cash

Just followed your link at it gives me a different price.

Your link shows up as a trip between JFK-Moscow travelling out 26 June travelling back 31 August with 4 passengers, 3 adults and 1 child.

The total fare going by the cheapest non refundable fare (Turistic level) is $2,707. The most expensive economy fare (Economy level) works out at $4,772 for the party.

I just tried your link and that price is not in USD. It's in Russia's currency (I'm embarrassed to admit that I cannot think of it's name), which works out to around what EGPH stated above.

Last week they had some amazing fares Europe to the Far East. They were cheaper than flying within Europe!

They still have. Maybe these are "permanent" special prices due to their financial situation and the weak Ruble?

They axed the fuel surcharges which brought fares to rock bottom. They are trying to get as much revenue in as possible even if its mega sale fares. Maybe they think passenger numbers will appease the Russian Govt in bailing them out.

Transaero is one of the cheapest airlines around, from TLV you can fly to Russia for under $150 (USD), JFK for $415, LAX for just over $620 and some destinations in the far east (like PEK) for $600.

In 2011, I flew with UN TLV-DME-YYZ and back for $700, and last year I flew with them to Russia and had domestic route too, but I don't know how much my hosts payed for my flights.
every day is a good day to fly

Russia's currency is the Rubble.

I got 191,000 Rubbles which works out to be roughly $2,900 USD.
Let's fly! Unless it's on a CRJ 200, then I'll stay down here.
