Airbus A340-500 Schedules

Mon Mar 09, 2015 5:49 pm

Hi,

Still need to fly the A340-500.

According the time-table AZAL uses them on the JFK route, but how about EK or EY ?
Which routes/cities ? Quite difficult to filter out of their timetables...

Any help appreciated !!!
don't throw away tomorrow !

Actually the timetable of EK is available as simple searchable pdf ... 345 flies from DXB to ALG, ATH, BEY and KBL - please note though that operations vary by day and will change with the timetable switch at the end of March.

EY flies with 345 from AUH to e.g. ICN still.

IB also operates 345 from MAD to BOG, EZE, LIM, MEX, UIO, SJO, SCL, GRU.

Or if you are into something exotic then perhaps JFK LOS on W3 could be an option ...

IB operates A343 and A346. It doesn't have, nor did it ever have, an A345 in its fleet.

Azerbaijan Airlines operate one from Baku-New York.

EK operate them to a few places still but they will soon be retired...

Well ... tell that to IB ... go to their website, do a simple search for one of these routes and see what comes up ...

Don't confuse the so called A345 from IB with an actual Airbus A340-500 I was fooled myself last month when I discovering the alleged a345 when browsing IB departures.

It turns out that the A345 from IB is just a way of indicating that the type of aircraft of the specific leg is equipped with the new and updated cabin product.

Yup, I've been tricked by that before.

Thankfully I got my A345 in a few years ago. I flew EK DXB-SYD-DXB. I flew on A6-ERG shortly before its tail strike incident in MEL.

I heard that despite what timetables say, the AZAL A345 is also used regularly between GYD-DXB ? Can anybody confirm this?
