I am moving to the US, and because I couldn't find anyone to take my cat (he is not very nice), he is coming with me. I have to pay LH €70 at the airport, but it occured to me that I don't actually have a credit card. Can I pay the Lufthansa fee with a Maestro (ATM/Debit) card? Can I just pay in cash?

PS., for the curious, I pay for the ticket through my bank with an instant bank transfer (Sofort-Überweisung)

I would imagine that you would be able to use either the debit card or cash at the airport. The only thing with a debit card is it might take a bit more time for the money to clear to LH, but for 70 euro, that shouldn't be that big a deal.

You can also prepay the PETC fee trough your travel agent normally. They would put that in the booking and issue a so called EMD for that. You should also be able to do this with LH on the phone.
But even at the airport I believe cash should be no problem. I know that LH at some stations accept credit card only, but this is rather for random stations that do not wish to handle cash, like EZE.

I emailed them, and they told me to call them. So, figure that one out. I'll call Tuesday, because I don't want to bother them during a strike.
