$49 Sale: Where To Go?

Fri Jun 05, 2015 3:54 pm

I wanna take advantage of WN's sale. The website seems to be in working order again. The cities that are $49 from STL are (in no particular order):

MCI
OKC
TUL
MKE
GRR
CMH
OMA
BNA
MDW
MSP

This will be a day trip: fly there and fly back, not exiting the airport for anything. I've already been to MSP, but the allure of lots of DL widebodies may be too much for me to not consider it. Which one would you suggest I fly to?

Out of that list? MSP hands down. I can't think of a compelling reason for any of the others, save the craziness that is MDW.

If you were leaving the airport, I would go for OKC or BNA

If you were leaving the airport, I'd recommend MDW because getting to the Loop is easy. Otherwise, MSP because of the wide bodies.

If CMH in the fall, particularly on Saturday, is an on option go with that.

Yes, but If you want to log a new town, I'd go for something new

MKE has quite a few widebodies of the cargo variety.

I'm not sure if I'd consider not leaving the airport as logging a new town.

I was gonna buy another rountrip, but the schedules and prices conspired against me. CMH seemed like the best option but too many connections for my liking. I'm going to do STL-MKE-MSP-STL.

The others had a return that was above $57 or had me staying too long in the city or had me arriving after 7pm (and leaving STL before 8am). I like flying but there's a limit too. Unless I were flying to a megahub (ORD, MSP, DTW, for instance) I do not want to spend more than 2 hours at an airport.

Thanks for your suggestions. I still get to log in a new airport (MKE).
