Airlines That Need A Retro Livery

Sun Jun 14, 2015 10:56 pm

What airlines do you think need a retro livery? Here's my thoughts:

DL: The 1990s widget would be great. I know they put it on a 752 earlier, but I don't think it ever flew a revenue flight with that livery. Also, some wavy gravy birds would be great.

BA: What would I do for a Landor-liveried 788?

AI: A 77W with these colors would be amazing:

How do you post images from the image section of this website? (similar to how the OP did it)

You can find it under the forum help.

To the topic at hand, I wish FI painted 757s in these two liveries:

A BA aircraft in these liveries would be lovely:

Nothing compares to taking off in an empty 757 with full thrust!

Air New Zealand ...70s/80s scheme - wasn't that long ago was it...could have a 1960s colour scheme I suppose

Gulf Air ......the Tristar colours on a A330 would look nice

Sri Lankan Airlines (aka Air Lanka) with the red tail white peacock

Cathay Pacific ......green and white stripes, ago not that long ago

Funny when you think about it, most of the major carriers have had one now.

the 744 would be more fitting i think.

And what about HA?? that would be nice. do it on a 717 to look almost like a DC-9. Im sure most of the state will recognize it.

AA should honor roots by having a US bird in US Air colors. Of course, the bare metal look won't work with the A319 but one can dream.

DL: bring back the widget

UA: battleship grey (what about the stars and stripes A320? Is that still flying?)

I was never a fan of the Landor BA livery, but I will admit that it would make for a good retro livery.

Ugh...although Deltaflot was a step up from the Ron Allen livery, nothing beats the widget. Bring it back!

They used white on some of the fleet:

Or they could go back to the original USAir colors:

But I'll be happy as long as they keep the PSA, Allegheny and Piedmont retrojets.

Just because I stopped arguing, doesn't mean I think you are right. It just means I gave up!
