Hotel With 18 Y/o Checkin Near MIA

Tue Sep 29, 2015 1:13 am

Hey guys and gals,
I'm traveling out of MIA next week to visit family. I am 19 and am attending university in Boca Raton. My flight is scheduled for Friday morning at 7:30am, meaning I would have to be up at 3 to leave by 4 to get to MIA by 5am. I was wondering if anyone knew if there were any hotels near MIA that allow nineteen year olds to checkin/stay the night. I would prefer if the hotel had free parking so I can leave the car and take a shuttle to and from MIA when I depart and return, but it wouldn't be a dealbreaker if it didn't have free parking.

Once again:
Friday morning flight,
need a hotel for Thursday night
need a hotel that allows for nineteen year olds to checkin
prefer a hotel with free parking, but not a priority

Thank you to any and all help!

I think most hotels would allow a 19 year old but I would just call and ask. And I do not think you will be able to park at a hotel if you don't have a reservation with them. So you can't just leave it at a hotel while you're on your trip. You'll need to find parking or maybe find someone to take you.

Check with the hotel about age and parking, but why not just take the train to MIA, shuttle to hotel and back, and train home?

I don't get why a 19 year old wouldn't be allowed to check in. I've done it in the US at 18 and no one said a thing.

Some hotels have age restrictions to prevent loud parties involving alcohol. In some places it may be a city ordinance too. Best to check with the hotel first.

Hey guys, how reliable is the tri rail? I'm thinking about just waking up early and taking a 4:35am train from Boca that will get me to MIA at 5:55. If it's delayed or cancelled then I know I have a very long drive that I'll need to catch up on, but generally, how reliable is it and would you recommend using it especially at such an early time?

Cheers,
Jeff

19 with a credit card with a check-in authorization for their "damage" limit, no problem... just like anyone else... 19 without a credit card, and you might be given a hard time.

I live near Chicago, so I don't have a lot of experience with Tri-rail, but the experience I have has all been good. Best bet might be to check it out a day or two ahead of time to make sure you know your way around. You don't want to try that at the last minute, then make a mistake and miss your flight.

You wouldn't believe the number of people who will try to leave their car parked somewhere while they go on vacation. I know people who take their car in for an oil change and then say "I'll come back later to pick up the car" and then two weeks later they show up expecting to pick up their car for the cost of an oil change.

What happens is that your car takes up valuable space at the mechanics or hotel that could be used by another guest or customer. I have seen cases where people have done this only to be faced with towing or storage charges for their "abandoned" vehicle.

I know some Marriott's (and probably others)near airports have rates available that allow you to leave your car there for duration of your trip ( I have done this in PHL and it is sometimes a lot cheaper than parking at airport).. you might want to look into that also
