Quoting MesaFlyGuy (Reply 1): Btw, even though PDX isnt a hub for B6...You guys have some nice service with JFK,BOS,LGB and seasonal ANC! |
Quoting LAX772LR (Reply 11): Mine would've been Kai Tak remaining open as a commuter/private jet airport, once Chek Lap Kok took over as the gateway to Hong Kong. |
Quoting a380787 (Reply 13): There's no highway connecting KaiTak to Central |
Quoting a380787 (Reply 13): and when you look at how horrible the local road traffic is |
Quoting a380787 (Reply 13): you nearly save no time by flying into "KaiTak-Teteboro" compared to just using CLK |
Quoting LAX772LR (Reply 15): The whole way, no... but it's not as if they didn't make due for more than a half-century, just fine. |
Quoting LAX772LR (Reply 15): Doubtful that that'd be the case |
Quoting vatveng (Reply 19): Sadly, I don't think anyone's in a big hurry to try a hub at PHF again... |
Quoting KGRB (Reply 18): I wouldn't mind seeing DL set up a focus city in MKE like NW did in the mid-2000s. NW flew to MCO, LAS, DCA, LGA, LAX, LAS and PHX non-stop, in addition to MSP/DTW/MEM. NW also had a MKE focus city in the late 80s that was obtained though their acquisition of Republic. Both times the MKE focus cities were short-lived, but I think DL would be more successful this time around since the competitive landscape has changed so much (especially with no YX competition anymore). |
