Is 65 minutes enough time to connect at ZRH? I'm arriving on UA from EWR, and departing on LX to TLV. Also, do I have to clear security?

Normally I'd say it should be alright, even with going through security and a passport check, but will there be any extra security procedures as it's a flight to TLV as opposed to somewhere, say, in Europe?
For comparison, I had 60 minutes last May, with a scheduled arrival from YUL at 06:20, and a departure at 07:20 to TXL (LX and LX op. by WK). We arrived at the gate at 06:19; it wasn't far to security, though it was a bit of a mess there. Still, it moved fairly quickly, and passport control was very quick. Train to the B-gates, a trip to the loo, and boarding was starting just as I got to the gate.
So it's doable, but there isn't really any time for dawdling. This year I've given myself 85 minutes for a connexion there, just to be a bit more comfortable.

I did a 60 minute connection at ZRH as well, arriving at 6:10 and departing for LHR at 7:10. There was ample time left (going to the loo and buying a cup of coffee) as long as you sit near the front (talking about seating in Y 
) and you know where you are heading (taking the train in my case) + walking at a pace no less than average.

If your flight (ZRH - TLV) is a A330/340 you will not need to change Terminal. UA arrives at Terminal E in ZRH.

On the site: http://www.flughafen-zuerich.ch you can enter TLV and see Gate, Aircraft plus Reg. Also before you dep EWR the info should be availabe.

Also have to keep in mind that flights aren't always on time. For example, the LX nonstop EWR-ZRH on Friday night arrived ZRH 1 hr 40 min. late today (1321 instead of 1140). You certainly would have missed a 65 min. connection had you been on that flight.

My wife and I did a connect in ZRH in 40 minutes, and it was easy. The trip was FLR-ZRH-IAD, we had a 'bus gate' on arrival and had time to stop at Sprungli in the main terminal for supplies for the trans-atlantic trip. The folks at UA were obviously looking for us and did a great job co-ordinating our check in and our baggage. I don't know how departing to TLV will change the security aspect of the trip.
ZRH is in my mind the best airport. It's efficient, clean, well organized and fun.

That's really my main concern. I was hoping to fly out of IAD, but that was not an option.
