I have completed it, and I wish you the best of luck with your research.
I just want to make one observation: when we are asked to rank on a scale between 1 and 10 the importance of certain factors I chose 10 for price. That is because it is always something that I would consider. That said, just because I said that price is very important does not necessarily mean that I would book an LCC. I would caution you to be careful to draw the conclusion that just because people are motivated by price means that they are potential LCC customers without doing further research. I am a retail travel agent so I talk to people about flight options every day. There are some people who are so price conscious that they won't spend even $5 more to fly Qantas over Jetstar or Tigerair. Most people, however, are not that single mindedly price motivated, and are willing to spend more if they can see the value in doing so. The classic example in the Australian market is
CZ, who are almost always the cheapest option to Europe. While someone might think that they want the "cheapest price to Europe", you can switch sell almost anybody onto the likes of
EK,
EY,
SQ or
CX so long as the difference is below a few hundred dollars. As it is I made that exact value proposition myself, and flew Jetstar from
SYD to
HNL (which is about 10 hours) because they were $500 per person cheaper than
HA and $1000 per person cheaper than
QF. The value proposition of a full service carrier simply doesn't stack up at those sorts of price. At $200 difference though I probably wouldn't have been on Jetstar.
