3. ENCOURAGE AMAZON PRIME-STYLE MEMBERSHIPS
Starbucks has 9 million My Starbucks Rewards members who preload their accounts with gift cards, allowing the company to earn hundreds of millions of dollars a year just from the interest on cups of coffee yet to be sold.
