Lots of my "firsts" were when I was a very little boy in the early '80s, and I have no memories of those flights, just an incomplete collection of old boarding passes and receipts and other oddball info my father wrote on them, so I don't know which of them were really my firsts, so I will start my list with the first flight of which I have actual memories of, in Nov 1988...

Fokker themselves have always conceded both the F70 and F100 to be regional jets.

The Fokker 100 ís a regional jet in service with many operators worldwide. The Fokker 100 was manufactured during 1988 through to 1996 and a total of 278 were built.

I've never considered the Fokker 70 or 100 a true regional jet, and I doubt Fokker did either. They have of course been used in that role.

Fokker themselves have always conceded both the F70 and F100 to be regional jets.

http://www.flyfokker.com/fokker_100

That's the current Fokker, not the one that went bankrupt that built the aircraft. Would have to look at their promotional material at the time the F70 and F100 were launched. Not even sure if the term "regional jet" existed then.

Thought of another of my firsts:

1st inflight movie - Pan Am 707-320B SEA-LHR April 1970.
For some reason I still remember the movie, this 1969 production with Steve McQueen.

RE: Your Firsts!

My first airplane flight: January 1988 (age 11, sixth grade): A church friend took me up for a ride in his Piper, around Northern Indiana.

My first commercial flight: July 1993 (age 18, 11th grade): CO 727 (meatball) IND-IAH on a church mission trip to Mexico. Our whole routing was CO IND-IAH-HRL round trip; the first leg was a 727, the rest were on DC-9s.

My first overseas flight: School trip to Spain, March 1994 (age 18, 12th grade): TWA IND-JFK-MAD (IND-JFK on a DC-9, then JFK-MAD was a 747), and back the same way. My first international flying trip, with first inflight movies, meals, and immigration and customs experience.

My first 747: The aforementioned TWA trip to Spain in 1994, TWA 904 JFK-MAD and TWA 903 MAD-JFK, both 747s.

My first 767: June 1995, ORD-BOS on AA 762; my first domestic widebody.

My first commuter flight (and first flight from hometown FWA): June 1995, FWA-ORD on American Eagle ATR-72 (Super ATR), on trip to Boston.

My first trip solo: July 1997, FWA-PIT-LGA roundtrip on USAirways: I went to NYC by myself, my first trip by myself, to attend a craniofacial symposium at NYU Medical Center. (First trip I purchased airfare myself for, too.) Also my first "business" trip (I went to NYC for a conference).

From 2000-2004: First flights on several types (737s, 757, 777, Airbuses, etc)

First trip on a foreign airline: Aer Lingus to Ireland, April 2002 (AA FWA-ORD, then EI ORD-DUB), also first Airbus (A330 on EI).

My first move away from home and family: In 2004, I moved from Fort Wayne to London to attend university there, and regularly commuted between UK and USA on AA and UA (and sometimes DL), mostly on 777s and the occasional 767.

My first 747-400: BA LHR-LAX roundtrip in April 2007. In my final year of university in London, I flew to California to interview at two universities (in LA and San Francisco) for admission to their PhD programmes. I ended up choosing UC San Francisco. (This was also my first trip where I did online checkin, and also my first time flying Southwest, as I flew WN between LAX and SJC to visit San Francisco for the other interview.)

First upgrade to a premium class: When returning from FWA to SFO after Christmas in January 2009 (flying DL FWA-ATL-SFO), due to a weather delay forcing me to miss my onward connection from ATL-SFO, DL upgraded me to first on the next available flight ATL-SFO. A year and a half later, DL did it again for me--due to delay/cancellation on return from BOS to SFO, DL upgraded me on both segments (BOS-DTW and DTW-SFO).

My first domestic 747: June 2010, unexpected pleasure of taking UA flight 54 (SFO-ORD) when I volunteered my seat on the direct A320 SFO-BOS and chose to take the 747 to ORD on my way to BOS.

My first transpacific trip: March-April 2010, to Dunedin, New Zealand, from San Francisco. AA SFO-LAX, then QF LAX-AKL, then on to DUD on NZ, same way back. Also my first international business trip.

My first Boeing 787 Dreamliner trip: Returning from FWA to YYC after Christmas in January 2013, I had booked a UA routing FWA-ORD-IAH-YYC because there was the new 787 on the routing (and a great deal on first class to boot). So I flew the ORD-IAH leg on the Dreamliner, in first class, and had my first wine aloft.

My largest frequent flyer mileage balance, and the airline I have flown most often with, is AAdvantage and AA. (My recent BA DEN-LHR trip, a fortnight ago, really helped boost my AAdvantage mileage.)

Not mine, although this certainly does not even come close to the "emptiest cabin" in the other thread...nonetheless, it was the guy's first single-passenger flight on an airliner and quite possibly his last (all by his lonesome).....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/tr...rd-Philippine-Airlines-flight.html

It could've been a positioning flight or a replacement for an AOG...whatever, the Mail had plenty of photo evidence to indicate it's not a PR (pun intended) campaign by PAL.

A female left-seater is still a rarity there...in any case, maybe PAL should reconsider their new Q order (price permitting) in favor of the CSeries or the E2s now that MPH would be able to handle even A320s or 737MAXs?

Would be interesting to know if he is an A.nutter as well. Maybe he would write a trip report?

This one is going to be hard to ever accomplish, sadly. 727 and DC-10/MD-11 pax jets are pretty much extinct   There may be a handful of Yak-42s flying, but good luck finding them.
