QF A380 J Class

Wed Feb 24, 2016 10:00 pm

Okay - I am shortly to be doing SYD-DFW return in J Class. Never flown the QF A380 before. Which is better, window seat or one of the two in the middle?

They're all pretty much the same. Depends on whether you want to look out the window or not. The QF A380s don't have and supposedly won't get the same J seats as the A330s, which is mind boggling.

Agree with Coal. Flew the QF380 only once so far from SYD-SIN-LHR. Had a window seat on the segment to SIN and a middle aisle seat on the night segment in to LHR. Like to look out of the window but do not enjoy climbing over my seat mate when he/she is fully flat. Pity that QF is not upgrading the seats on the A380 fleet.

Being based out of BNE have taken advantage in the last couple of years of the EK/QF JV. Last trips to Europe always on the EK380 to DXB connecting in to HAM. Even managed an upgrade from J to F last May.

Really looking forward to trying the new J seat on my upcoming trip to Germany in May. Have decided to do QF 51 from BNE to SIN connecting to AY's new A350 to HEL. Their new business class seat also looks very nice and comfy and the ticket is about A$ 2000 less than the option via DXB.

Cheers from Brisbane,

Peter

I've done both and notice no difference.

Having flown this route several times, there's nothing to see until you're coming in to SYD, at which time you MIGHT get a view of the CBD. But you might not. Pretty much all of the flight is dark. OP, just don't expect fantastic views throughout your flight if you're going for a window seat for that reason.
