BA Vlml Meals In ClubEurope

Mon Feb 29, 2016 12:13 pm

Yesterday my girlfriend and I flew from LGW to GVA in BA's Club Europe.
While I got a decent brunch platter with ham, salami, cheeses, eggs etc., my girlfriend, who pre-ordered a VLML meal, got only a fruit platter. This is just a disgrace and ridiculous. Vegetarians are very well eating eggs and cheeses and are not on a diet usually.
Other than that, we enjoyed the flight in a full Business Cabin (7 rows) and the crew was lovely. Just beware that BA's Business Lounge at LGW is closed, and as a result customers are invited to use the No1 lounge instead, which was very crowded.

Do you have similar experiences with something like that?
Kind regards, Florens

We ordered an indian veg meal for my wife in club europe just recently, and it was a cold paneer tikka plate with salad. We were skeptical at first but holy hell it was delicious. Seriously some of the tastiest paneer I've ever had. She wasn't hungry so I was more than happy to eat her meal instead.

We love Indian food. Looks like a trick and a good way of getting a decent meal, anyways!

Vegetarian meal quality varies so tremendously. I've had a great hot Indian plate on Club Europe LHR-LIS but also quite small, bland, and disgraceful meals.

I am gluten-free and I feel the same. For every second meal I just get a small plate of fruits and it really annoys me.

Does AVML (Asian Veg) exist at BA? HVML (Hindu) used to exclude beef/pork at one point but did include chicken and fish. What is the go to code to get good veg food on BA that's not all raw salad and fruit?

I found Asian Veg, but not Indian Veg. Maybe the offerings differ from shorthaul to longhaul. This was a shorthaul flight.

Always order Asian veg meals! You have learnt the hard way :P Asian veg = currys in europe/middle east but often you get actual Asian food in Asia (doh) or the USA.

AVML is almost always an indian dish on BA. On your booking it will say Hindu Vegetarian Meal or somesuch...this seems to be quite a recent change and is carried over to a booking I made through BA on CX recently.

Club Europe meals are hit and miss. I recall a potentially delicious Tandoori Chicken from a couple of years ago that BA had interpreted as Tandoori Chicken Skin & Gristle the couple of times I chose it. Unquestionably another area where they've skimped on cost in the last five years or so.

BA don't do HNMLs as such any more, it will generally be the same as the AVML now.
