Helicopters on FlightAware

I was just checking out the live flight tracker function on FlightAware for the Southeast United States and noticed a couple of helicopter flights, one from Louisiana to an oil rig and another from Fort Meyers to the Miami area. First time I have noticed helicopters on FlightAware so is this a new feature from FlightAware?

I think it has mostly to do with helicopter traffic filing flight plans. I've noticed a few heli's over time, but the majority do not show up. That is even when I know they are up and flying (since I work in aerial firefighting that is common). I wish they did.

Only IFR flights show up on Flightaware; helicopters fly VFR most of the time. In addition, many helicopters are corporately owned with public tracking blocked by the owner.
You know the gear is up and locked when it takes full throttle to taxi to the terminal.
