Disrupted Catering
Where there is a major disruption like the hurricane in Houston, what happens to all of the food that has been prepared for flights? Curious what the timing is for adjustments with catering? Do they have to ramp down and then back up? Or do they simply throw food out? Is food for canceled flights still paid for?

Food ordered for a flight, but not delivered due to cancellation of service, is invoiced to the customer. Food which has left the catering building, but not delivered to an aircraft, is discarded. Food delivered to an aircraft, but returned due to cancellation of service, is also discarded. Only exception is soft drinks, alcohol and other non-perishables.
