Jet aircraft able to use EGLC?

Googling this extensively came up with no results, at least in the form of a list of aircraft current (or previously) in use (but then I seem to be a lousy Googler!).

I would like to know which civil jet a/c are able to take off and land at EGLC. I assume not an a320? I ask mostly because I want to try flying in and out of EGLC in X-Plane 11, but the available civil jets are very limited.. possibly an Emb170 BA City Flyer, if I could get any of the cockpit switches working.

Any 146 series, Fokker 70, ERJ170, ERJ190, A318,CS100 small to medium biz jets too.

Wasn't the Sukhoi Superjet 100 also certified to land at London City? Other than that, I think the list in the post above is pretty much it when it comes to jets.

Of course there also are a lot of props operating in and out of London City. ATR 42 / 72, Dash 8, Fokker F-50, etc are all regular guests there.

Certainly not! The largest plane that is able to use London City is the A318. The 757 is way too big.

“able” and “certified” aren’t necessarily the same thing, especially when OP is asking about a flight sim. i wouldn’t be surprised if an empty 752 with RB211s and its beefy brakes handles approach, landing and takeoff just fine.

Thanks - sadly none really available for X-Plane 11 (apart from some expensive payware Embraers). The ATR might be an option... I'll look further. Who flies the ATR out of London City though?

Flybe and Aurigny at the moment and Aer Arann used to before they ceased operations.

There was a list buried somewhere on LCYs site.
Basically, has to be multi-engined and certified for approaches greater than 5.5'. No single engine, no helos.

The document's title suggests it's from 2011, so it's a little outdated (CSeries are not on the list for example).

Runway length isn't the issue. It's the approach certification and ramp space.

It's a simulator, just pick planes and start trying. I mean how many times have people tried landing 747's on carriers?

I'd be amazed, and like to see the data, that a B757 has anywhere near enough drag to fly a 7.5 degree glide path. Yes, it's 5.5 degrees, but the certification standard is 7.5 degrees to handle exigencies, poor technique, etc.

Actually the CS100 is the largest aircraft operating at LCY... its slightly larger footprint wise

But regardless it is highly unlikely you will every see anything larger than that at LCY. They are getting really tight on space lately

I don't know anything about the fidelity of that sim, but rumours has it to be not too far from the truth. Anyway, I've landed a 757 there in real-life full-flight (Level D) simulator. 'Twas a bit sporty, and it was not possible to establish a stabilized approach as per the normal criteria. But we got it down, and stopped, without too much fuss. Good fun.

I know a bloke who landed a 777 there in a FFS, and there's rumours of a nutter doing the same in an A380.

It doesn't. At least not without liberal use of speedbrakes.

That suggests you need to be able to fly with a L/D of some 7.5 @ approach speed, all of a sudden the speed brakes on the BAE146 make a lot of sense, maybe the ultrafan with its variable pitch blades akin to a turboprop will usher in a new class of aircraft into LCY.
