737 nose creases

What is the purpose of the creases on the nose of the 737? Looks like 320 also has something similar but not as pronounced. Thanks!

Without a picture it's just a guess but you are probably talking about the lightening diverter strips. The strips give the lightening a path to travel through and limit any damage to the composite radome.

I think the lines on the nose cone itself are aerodynamic in nature?

Lightening protection is the reason why. On the Airbus aircraft, there is a difference between early and late models, the later models have more lightening protection strips on them as the weather radar changed. Early weather radar in Airbus aircraft did not have predictive wind shear, later models do, that required the material in the nose to be changed as the frequency the radar operates at is different.
