A333 DOW

Mon Jul 09, 2018 2:41 pm

Good afternoon!
I was looking through some cockpit clips on youtube when I noticed something quite strange...Take a look at this clip (pause at 5:40).

119.8T DOW?! The lowest number I have seen on the A333 is like 122T empty, and that's typically a few tonnes under DOW. And yes, I'm aware that higher density aircraft are normally
lighter than lower configured ones, but those numbers should be close to impossible to achieve...Or am I missing something here??

DOW depends on catering and IFE, maybe they had little to no catering. I do not think they have IFE either.

I agree with that Zeke, but wouldn't a 10 hours flight be flown with some rather heavy galleys? (Now I see that I missed pointing out it was an LR flight...) But nevertheless, was quite surprised you could get one ready for a flight of that length and still be under the 120 mark...

I do have some tables for some 400+ seaters with no IFE and all economy layout, still, the basic weight is 122t (no catering, 75% water, and no cabin crew) and the expected minimum dry weight is around 125t for that mission. What could be the reason for this large diff between those two for example...??
