I think the Fail Operational (Cat 3B) autoland 737s will not disconnect the Autopilot, but others will when TO/GA is pushed. So I’m guessing you fly the 737.

All the 737’s that have auto land capability have the ability to do auto go around not just the few that have rollout.

That’s not correct. Pushing to TO/GA switch does not automatically disconnect the autopilot on the 787. Nor does it do so on the 747, 757, 767, or 777. Only some 737 variants do that. It’s entirely possible for the Autopilot to fly a go-around.
You also don’t have to select new A/P modes. The 787 has TO/GA to LNAV. You may select a different pitch mode unless the ALT mode engages due to reaching MCP altitude.
Not sure where you heard that, but it’s not accurate.
