Taxiways use at HNL

Thu Aug 01, 2019 4:05 pm

Since about an hour I've spent time watching heavy cargo flights from the mainland land on HNL's runway 4R and exit it at its very end. However, instead of turning right and use taxiway C to reach the cargo area on the airfield's south side, they have all turned left, followed taxiway A as far as taxiway D or E that they then followed to access the cargo area. Is taxiway C weight or width restricted between runways 22L and 26R?

Maybe this NOTAM has something to do with it:
HNL 07/330 HNL TWY C BTN APCH END RWY 22L AND 350FT NORTH TWY P CLSD 1907261300-1908150100

I've watched many freighters from the parking lot at the end of Lagoon drive. I've often wondered why, instead of following the same route passenger jets take to runway 8R, they taxi along runway 4R, take a reverse high speed, and taxi along runway 8R. That turn has to be tough on tires and pavement. But it allows good photo opportunities though!!
