United Airlines: CPT-EWR. Any Seat Restrictions?

Sun Sep 08, 2019 10:05 pm

Just curious if UA will have to block any seats on the CPT-EWR leg when it commences, due to the length of the flight.

If not, will it be possible to carry any cargo on the route?

Sincerely,
Whatever

Full pax and a few tons of cargo will be possible. This flight is shorter than SFO-SIN which can already take minimal amounts of cargo when the winds are favorable. The only issue could be weather in EWR which would require more holding fuel, so in that case some seats may be compromised.

Very good point. I have seen that UA is able to take an average of about 7 tons of cargo on the SFO-SIN leg and you are right, the flight time on this leg should be slightly shorter. It appears I had a blonde moment.

Thanks!

Yes, and mind it the 7 tons is on a good day, when flight time approaches 17-18 hours that's when there will be minor seat penalties and cargo penalties to SIN. The 787-9 will preform great on this route, both the Dreamliner and A359/K have revolutionized long haul flying.
