Question about CDG Runway Closure - 8L/26R

Mon Nov 18, 2019 6:54 pm

I flew out of CDG yesterday and our flight to JFK departed from 8R, which was being used for both landings and departures as 8L/26R was closed. Last time I flew out of CDG, which was about two years ago, that runway was closed, too. I tried looking up info on this online, but couldn't find anything. Is it down for scheduled maintenance or other reasons? And how long is it closed for?

No NOTAMs on a closure, probably just happened to be closed temporarily on the two days you were there—it happens.

I must have flown out of that runway at least 50 times this year alone.

They often close down a runway for routine maintenance at quiet times. Usually always one or two every night.
