787-8 Commonality Upgrade News?

Towards the end of 2018, significant commonality improvements to the 788 vs. its bigger siblings were supposed to have been made. I know the laminar tail section was one, but otherwise there seems to be no firm news. Have the wings been made common? If so, does anyone know what the new range for the modified 788s should be?

Only articles from a narrow window in time ( April 2018) around apparently.
No longer of interest?
The 787 sale to Hawaiian Airlines was a month earlier in March of the same year.

Wasn't AA supposed to be getting these upgraded birds as part of their order for 22 more B788? That is how I remember it. I have also not read much about any of this since.
