1968 CVR's credibility

Wed Nov 25, 2020 9:41 pm

I’ve been working on a short film story that pretty much cease to exist without a good flight sequence. Being aware how much has already been screwed up by my industry when it comes realism I promised myself I’m going to expand my research and no stone will go unturned.

I’m wondering about this CVR’s credibility when it comes to procedures, terminology and realism…

This accident is very similar to the one I put in my script. I’m aware a lot has changed since 1968 but is there anything there that is still up-to date or good enough to serve as an inspiration?

Appreciate your time.

Well, it’s decades old in B727 that hasn’t been flown by airlines for nearly 20 years, it’s good. But, it’s not at all like a more modern plane.

You should read some (more recent) accident reports. They usually include CVR transcripts, if available. This should give you some ideas

I’d watch a few videos of JustPlanes on YouTube to get more up to date checklists, verbiage, etc.
