Currency and recency for Part 121 pilots during Covid drama

Many of us that operated under Part 121 rules pre Covid never had to worry about currency. Our respective companies trained us and regular flying kept us in check. We now however face a different challenge. I for example have over 9000 hrs on A330/340/350 (we flew multi fleet) types, but I have not flown since March 2020 and have not done a OPC since Oct 2019 (I was due again in Apr 2020). We will soon be entering the period where masses of highly experienced crews will need to do full type ratings to reactivate. This could possibly create huge training delays for operators trying to ramp up again.

Have ICAO, or any Regulators provided exemptions or guidance on this matter?
