I would like to request for assistance or information where I have purchased a navigation database update for an A330-343 to be uploaded into the FMCG. The problem is I am not anywhere near the aircraft and my laptop is the only computer registered to get the navigation database from Honeywell. I need to write the navigation database onto floppy disks but from me to send the floppy disks via mail is going to either get lost, spoilt, or take too long to receive to be in time for the aircraft's flight (on 23 December) I would like to ask how I can write the database out so that my engineer who is at the aircraft can receive it via email or network drive to put onto the floppy disks and update the FMCG?
If it’s floppy disk, download, FDX overnight to the crew hotel. We did it a lot when it was still on floppys back when GWB was president. All thumb drives now.
Pretty sure its FMGC...Flight Management and Guidance Computer...sounds like the MCDU to me
The MCDU (pronounced "mac-doo") is the interface unit with the keypad and screen, commonly but inaccurately referred to as the "FM" or "FMS". The FMGC/FMGEC is the computer system itself.
