A380 Ops at Miami... FOLLOW ME

Watching various Live Stream channels from Miami, I was not aware when the A380 taxies for take off or landing it is lead by a follow me vehicle. Is this something new for the A380 at Miami and if so, why?

I believe not all of the taxiways have full A380 compliant taxiway separation. Using the follow me car ensures they go exactly where they are supposed to and gives an added set of eyes looking out for potential clearance issues.
