A321 Question

Sun Aug 07, 2022 9:48 pm

Hello,

I’ve got a somewhat technical question regarding the A321.

What’s the difference between the A321-111 and 211? Are there at least any visual differences? I was told that they have the same engine.

Thanks

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus_A320_family#A320:

The A320 series has two variants, the A320-100 and A320-200. Only 21 A320-100s were produced. These aircraft, the first to be manufactured, were delivered to Air Inter – later acquired by Air France – and British Airways as a result of an order from British Caledonian made prior to its acquisition.

The primary differences with the -100 were the -200's wingtip fences and increased fuel capacity, providing increased range.

This is about the A321, not the A320.

The -100 has substantially less range than the -200 due to lighter weights, less powerful engines and less fuel capacity. Only about 90 were built.

The last three digits are coded as follows:
- First digit. Version.
- Second digit. Engine manufacturer.
- Third digit. Engine version.

This coding is used for all Airbus except A300 and A310.

Handy reference (that may not contain the latest variants. http://aviation.rosboch.net/?p=5
