TAP and São Tomé TMS question
I see that tap are running their flight TO TMS Sao Tome direct now on an A321 lr . Just wondering what their diversion airfield would be ?. Also with these islands around 3000 miles from moat of Europe could we see other operators starting flights.

Presumably it's LBV, or even a return to ACC depending on the stage of the flight? It's curious that the direct flight only seems to operate on certain days, while others still make the ACC stop in both directions.

Sao Tome has a tiny population, and obviously links with Portugal are historic. I doubt it can sustain a daily direct service, too much. Tourism is tiny and extremely niche albeit growing.

Yes guess they are not too far away. Looks like a cool place with lots going for it. Thought it could be a good winter sun destination for Europe. Nice beaches low crime etc. About 3000nm from London etc 321 could be a good route for lr xlr

The flight is a bit long for RTB for the entire fight, but my guess is ACC is their alternate on the direct
