Sxmarbury33 - Flight simulator is great to enthuse pilots as it has done with you, but I strongly feel that Flight sim is a toy! Not every aspect of FS is bad, it does teaches you to read instruments and stuff. But you also learn a lot of bad habits, which will convert over to flying the real thing. These things are like not looking outside, no coordination on the turns, ect. I used to think the FS was great, until I started flying the real thing. I realised how many important aspects FS misses! That is why I do not think FS should be used as a training aid (There are some exceptions). But the worst thing I think about Fligth Simulator, is downplaying the seriousness of flying!
