I found that article and the others on the left frame to be most interesting.

I hope this will be of help to those that are looking to become ATC.

ILS 15

Tue Oct 03, 2000 2:53 am

Greg, I hope you don't me calling you that, I was thinking about becoming one for a short stint before I moved on to flying as a career. Just as something to fall back on.

How would you recommend that I go about it? I'm already in Purdue's Aviation Administration program, so it's not that far of a reach for me to get into that.

Mind you, this is all tentative. Tommorow I might decide I'd like to be an accoutant if I'm unable to fly!

Your best shot of landing a job w/ the FAA is to graduate from a CTI accredited school. There are 15 and once you gradute it's not 100% gaurenteed that you'll be hired, but you put your foot in the door, it's your best bet. I went to a CTI school, graduated, got an interview, went out to Oklahoma City and then got assigned from there. It's not a real long road, not as long as getting hired by a major airline, but you've got to be commited. Hope this helps, let me know if you've got any other questions,

Greg
