I have a question the brakes on nose wheels. From the search function, I gathered that some airplanes have it, and some don't. But I can't find much info on which airplanes have the nose wheels brakes, and which airplanes don't have, except for Convair CV880 and CV990 which have the brakes, and B727 which initially have the brakes but removed due to complexity.
So, how about other airplanes like B737/747/757/767/777 and A300/310/320 family/330/340?
Can't elaborate why they removed the brakes from the nose gear but for the interest there are brakes in the nose gears of all the other aircraft you mentioned.
From what I read, most of B727s had their nose brakes removed due to the complexity in maintaning those brakes... I'm not sure why the Convair Jets still have them...
The nosewheel brakes on earlier jets where removed and not included in all subsequent jets for several reasons.
1. They affected steering control adversly.
2. They where not very effective due to the small tires. They didn't add that much more braking power too the system.
3. Tires wore out quickly due to the combined stresses of steering and braking.
There probably are other reasons I'm sure others here can add.

The aircraft that Garuda asked about all do NOT have nose wheel brakes. They do have spin brakes located in the wheel well whose function is to stop the wheel once it is retracted. But I think the intent of the question was do they have brakes that stop the aircraft. Definetly not.
Our 72's still have the brakes. Mostly so we can haul more freight into shorter runways. However in 7 years i have only changed a set of nose brakes one time. So i do not see the "removed for complexity" issue

oh yeah the 732 does not have nose brakes.
Sometimes all you can do is look them in the eye and ask " how much did your mom drink when she was pregnant with you?"
