What Equipment do you carry around on yourself related to your work in Line Mx & Major Mx.
For me In Line Mx its the Cellphone,the portable RT set,Leathermans plier,large 4 cell Maglite,Ear defenders.
At Major Mx,its Leathermans & small 2 pencil cell maglite.

I carried an electricians line belt and pouch with dykes, duck bills, safety wire pliers, safety wire, 1/4 ratchet, set of small snap on 1/4 drives on a rail, Apex driver with a film can of tips, some open/box end wrenches 3/8 to 9/16, a 6in cresent wrench, 3 cell mag light with halogen bulb (very shock proof), rack of allen wrenches .050 to 1/4 in for loose instrument knobs, electricians knife, and other misc. items. Everything you need to keep the delays to a minimum.
In the Hangar, a pen and the flashlight. My faithful rollaway carried the rest where ever I went.

I carry a small pouch that fits on your belt that is sold by snap-on.It fits two screw drivers a pair of needle nose a 6 inch adjustable wrench and my streamlight poly stinger.

Only if it's a customer and I will be paid for it (time and a half - real money, not Time Off In Lieu).
And even then, a maximum of 6 hours on top of an 8 hour shift because of the European Working Time Directive which limits my duty time to 14hrs.
If the a/c belongs to my employer, I am obliged to work 2 hours overtime (IAW my contract of employment). After that I walk off the job, due to my local manager deciding that he will only allow TOIL at one/one ratio (in fact, he announced this earlier this week).

Google it for the EU document but it's all legalese bollocks. In summary:-
The EWTD applies to people in "transport" within the EU. We may work up to 14 hours and then have a 10 hour break before further duty.
There are also limits to the number of hours worked per week, consecutive days on duty, special rules for night workers, etc.
Crew hours are limited, now mine are too. All good, safe stuff.
The days of the "ghoster" have, thankfully, gone.

Mini-Mag and Super Leatherman on belt. Sometimes a 3D-cell Maglite. Leatherman doesn't get much use. I usually have a 100 LB ( or 50 Kg if you like ) cantelever tool box in tow ( on the end of a 3 foot length of stout chain riding on a custom-made aluminum platform cart ) Jam-packed with most everything I need.

Typically I'll have my Ultrastinger, a Leatherman and of course a cell phone. The cell phone comes in handy getting hold of coworkers or the hanger when they don't answer the radio.

We've just got a Compaq V2000 series Notebook for use on our B752SFs preloaded with AMM,DDG & FIM.But its raining bad out here & its not water proof.So needs to be very carefull with Water falling on it.Keep it in the Van & Drive near the Bay.

On Line I carry around my flashlight, flip-flop snap-on screwdriver, pen, ACA Stamp, ear plugs, and a rag hanging out of the old back pocket. Also I usually have a tool bag with at the basics sitting in the company van.

My mini-mag w/ LED and pushbutton upgrade, Gerber, Mechanix gloves and Benchmade knife. No cell phone though, my bosses don't like to see them around a plane.

That a leatherman (I have the gerber that has all you need to pop a 200 engine cowl off) and a flashlight. F-4 tape (red stripe), RTV 157, and super glue also helps (not tools but very handy)
If you can't clear it with this stuff you have an actual maintenance issue.
Oh and the carry around tool box with everything else I need

It has a browser so you could get to your company stuff if it's web based. But access is slow (GPRS). A more viable option would be a newer model with some 3G technology.

Technically the email access mentioned before is also net access.
The Internet is the whole thing. The Web (HTML) and email (SMTP/POP/IMAP) are things that run on the Internet.

Wireless as in 802.11x you're looking at 54mbits with g and 150+ with n.
Cell phone wireless you're looking at 145kbps with GPRS (very much in theory). 3G networks are several times faster than that.

Snap-on ratcheting magnetic screwdriver with every possible bit,leatherman and cellphone or 2-way radio and pen,anything big comes up the toolbag with implements of destruction comes out,few times that I worked in the hangar the roll-away was with me like a faithful dog.

You can get speeds in the same class as slow DSL. 256-512kbps.

"Broadband" is a word used to sell more than describe these days. I guess I'm biased but I would say 256k is not broadband.
Traditional ISPs aren't much in the 3G game (at least from the customer point of view. I'm sure they have their fingers in the game somewhere). You're looking at cellphone providers like Verizon and Sprint (in the US), Vodafone and so forth (in Europe). My new ThinkPad even comes with a built in 3G modem for connection to Verizon's Edge 3G service. Prices are still high though. You're talking $100+ a month.
