Quoting 727EMflyer (Reply 6): to which I cooly replied "yep!" not quite remembering I'd told him to panic when he heard it. |
Quoting KELPkid (Thread starter): I took my sister up for her first general aviation flight (in a banner-tow equipped 172). |

Quoting 2H4 (Reply 3): This story may or may not be true... I remember hearing a story about a particular airline that decided to mount a video camera behind the pilots and broadcast the feed back to the passengers. The camera showed the center pedestal, throttles, and each pilot's inside shoulder. Naturally, the pilots were angry with management for A) installing a video camera to begin with, and B) for hooking up a live feed back to the pax cabin. Their solution involved a gorilla glove. The FO got the glove from a gorilla costume. It had long monkey fingers and fur on top. After pushback, and as the aircraft began it's taxi, the video feed turned on. The pax were treated to a view of what appeared to be a large gorilla or sasquatch manupilating the throttles, flipping switches, and turning dials. The "gorilla" entered the runway, advanced the throttles, and proceeded to take off. After take off....with the pax still glued to the tv screens....the gorilla relinquished control to the captain, who proceeded to hand him a banana for a job well done. |
Quoting Bohica (Reply 11): There was once a thread about this. Apparently it was on an AA DC-10 and the crew got repremanded for unprofessional behavior. |
Quoting Buzz (Reply 15): (USA symbol for somebody who can't see) |
Quoting Buzz (Reply 15): Maybe we're not supposed to do that in this politically correct society. But it was good for a belly laugh. |
Quoting Starlionblue (Reply 15): Nowadays if I hold the door for a woman this can be seen as a bad thing! |
Quoting Don81603 (Reply 17): A woman I was dating actually yelled at me for this. "If I can't open the ****ing door myself, I deserve to walk into it!" |

Quoting AvionicMech (Reply 18): Just like when women say 'I can't open the bottle or thats too heavy for me' and ask a man because we are stronger but are quick to moan if we don't do something that is generally something women are better at |
Quoting Whiskeyflyer (Reply 12): We operate a biz jet from our hangar, but also one of the people here have a two seater aircraft (kitfox) stored in the hangar as well. Two weeks ago, the biz jet was being sent to collect some people but their drivers where to depart on the outbound flight, to drive the passengers cars back (18 hours by road is the distance) When the two drivers arrived at our hangar, the foreman put them in the two seater aircraft, buckled them in and told them to wait for the pilot. He left them for nearly ten minutes to basically wonder what they where getting themselves in for (and where does the pilot go?) |
Quoting Starlionblue (Reply 19): I hope you broke up quickly... |
Quoting Bri2k1 (Reply 31): hen it won't matter much, since he's flying within Canada, he must be on a Canadian airline! |
