Careers In Aviation Management - Help!

Wed May 16, 2007 12:17 am

Ive just signed up to A.net today after 7 years of lurking and snooping around the forums, Im feeling a lot cleaner already!

Im looking for an insight into careers in Aviation Management and hope that some of you will be able to help me out. I'm 31 this year and I currently work as a management consultant, with a strong sourcing and procurement background, for a global consultancy.

I would like to enter the world of aviation management/ops etc and have located a degree course in Aviation Management at London Met University - there is a foundation course (2yrs full time) and a degree course (3yrs). If any of you can answer any of my questions below or can provide info on the course or entry into the industry in general I would be greatly appreciative...

Are these qualifications recognised within the industry?
Will I be able to transfer my current consulting and industry skills with any credibiltiy?
Would it be better to study the foundation or degree course?
On gaining a qualification how easy is it to gain employment?

If any of you would be prepared to talk to me in person online or otherwise that would be fantastic.

Many thanks in advance for you time.

Cheers J
