I am an aviation student at Eastern Michigan University.

Well it just seemed like mostly random questions. Couldn't really make out what was the purpose of it.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to add the other licenses as well, you were missing ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI etc etc (yes I was too lazy to type in the "other" field

This is good because the questions won't lead or bias your thinking. The "purpose" is to collect some honest answers that I can present in the context of the hypotheses that I am testing. The results may confirm or refute some common beliefs.

This is just a matter of keeping it simple. When I look at the results of the question about long haul flights, the CFI isn't as relevant as private vs. commercial.
ATP is already included. You can look back and change your answer. Did you mean A&P?

#3 - miles to "base airport." I have 5 "base airports" that I am responsible for. Obviously the distance varies, but there is no option for various or multiple distances (I avoid LAX if at all possible).
#4 - minutes to clear security. Probably better to as AVERAGE minutes to clear security. Depending upon the airport and the personnel on duty, it can vary from a couple of minutes to 15 or more minutes.

Probably, but that is because we don't have a "base airport." In AA's system the LAX Crew Base is the administrative designation; however, "LAX based" pilots are responsible for trips that start/end at the "Satellite" crew bases: LAX, ONT, LGB, SNA and SAN.

Depending upon the time of day, day of the week & satellite base, my commute can be anywhere between 25 minutes and 4+ hours. That is just the drive times to the parking lots. Transit time from parking lot to inside the terminal can be an additional 5 to 45+ minutes.

With regards to the base airport question, there are several carriers that home base pilots. We simply airline to where the plane is and start our trip there. I used an average number, but in reality, I could start my trip 300 miles away one month,
and travel 3000 miles back home at the end of the trip. I simply put in an average number.

I am uncertain if I will be able to leave the survey open after this weekend, so I'm giving it a weekend bump. 
Ideally, I would like to keep it open until the final drafts are due near the end of the month. However, drafts are also due this coming Tuesday and Wednesday.

The survey was a huge success and is now closed.
