Online System That Knows Which Exact Gate?

Wed Jun 15, 2011 4:50 pm

Is there an online system were I can let me know the exact departure/arrival gate in which aircraft will depart or arrive to?
For example, SWISS airlines usually arrives and departs at Terminal B at KLAX. But I dont know which exact gate though.

Is there any online system that will know this?

Thx.

Not likely, since gates can change at a moment's notice. I've never seen one outside of an individual airline's operations system that keeps track of that data.

http://www.flightstats.com tends to have this info. However as HAL says it can change on a moment's notice so they often don't have it.

The most accurate info I have found in a mobile format is to text google from my phone. Just send the flight number and it will send back lots of info. Not sure if it will work outside of north america, though.

This site also lists, if the gate changes. However, it can have quite some delays like 30min. But nevertheless always worth a look. Also saves time being at the airport too early, if you are picking someone up, as it always updates the estimated gate-in time

There are several phone apps that provide the same service. My current favorite is Flight Update Pro.

Terminal B at KLAX

No such place at LAX.

Swiss operates from the TBIT Intl facility.

You'd be driving circles all day looking for "Terminal B".

I just go to the airport website and check the flight info. Many times they are more accurate than the airline's sites.

That's funny. The flight info for LX41 on LAXA's website shows Terminal B for the terminal. Although, B is just the code for the TBIT in the system.
