Lights On The Ceiling Of The Galleys (Airbus)

Hello,

I've always wondered what are those little lights on the ceiling of airbus' galleys, usually in front of the corridor. It can be seen to the left of the exit signs in these A350 photos and are usually composed of red and blue lights:

I've only seen this on airbus planes but maybe they are present on boeings too. What are their meaning?

"Rainbow lights." They are different colored lights that represent a certain notification for the flight attendants. These include calls from the flight deck, other flight attendant stations, lavatory, smoke detectors, etc.

And they are in Boeings as well. Pretty standard in aircraft design these days.

They're on most, if not all aircraft types... from Bombardier and Embraer, to Airbus and Boeing. As Compliancecheck said, they're "Rainbow Lights" for the cabin crew. When you're a passenger, you'd normally notice a "bing bong" noise. When the cabin crew hear these, they look towards the rainbow lights to see what's happening. IE, Toilet Smoke Alarm, Call from the Pilots etc.
