Concorde 1:6 model - speed

Sat Aug 31, 2019 8:28 am

I love watching the very large RC models fly - they seem to behave a bit more like real aircraft, as opposed to the small RCs that bounce around in the air like a small bird or insect.

I stumbled upon this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9P0ByxIymYg

The specs are as follows:

Technical data:
Scale 1/6
Span: 4 m / 13 ft.
Lenght: 10 m / 33 ft.
Height: 1.85 m / 6.1 ft.
Weight: 149 Kg / 328.5 pounds
Turbine: 4x JetCat P300 Pro
Fuel Tanks Capacity: 4x6 liters / 5.8 Gallons (UK)
Gears: Pneumatic
Radio: PowerBox CORE
Receiver: PowerBox PBR-26D
Servos: 18x HACKER TD2612S
Air Tank: 30 liters
The fuselage and wings is made of carbon fibre sandwich

The turbine specs are here: https://www.jetcat.de/en/productdetails ... p300%20pro

They produce max 300N thrust. I'm curious, given the weight, the 4x turbines, and what we know about the aircraft design, more or less how fast would this model be able fly?

That thing is freaking incredible! The sound it makes during the flybys!

He's got more guts than I do. I'd be terrified of crashing it after all that work.

Indeed. I noticed he wasn't flying it himself - he had *two* pilots in the credits.
