X-Plane 11 Controllers... Stick VS Yoke?

Hi guys. At some point in the future, I'm going to get XP11, and I was wondering what type of controller I should get. I'm thinking either the Saitek yoke and throttle set, or the CH Fighterstick with one or two Saitek throttle quadrants. The reason I'm asking is that I foresee myself flying both airliners and fighters. It would feel wrong to fly a 737 or an MD-80 with a stick, but it would feel wrong to fly a Phantom or a Hawg with a yoke. Thanks.

stick for modern Airbus or yoke for Boeing

Right, but I'm gonna be flying Boeings, MD-80s, and FIGHTERS!

To clarify, I need to pick one that will serve ALL purposes.

Yoke. Ch pro yoke works well with all commercial and fighter jets and is inexpensive. There are much better, more expensive yokes out there though so depends if you want force feedback or not. In my home cockpit I have 2 CH Pro yokes and they work just fine, but at some point id like to get the forcefeeback yoke for $1000

Right. Does it feel wrong to fly fighters with a yoke?

Not really. If you primarily fly fighters then get a joystick but if you'll fly more commercial jets then id deal with the yoke in a fighter.

Hmm... I see doing both equally.

A stick is more versatile. Better get some twisting one that can emulate rudders moving or tail rotors. Technically hall effect joysticks are best because they measure a magnetic field for steering commands instead of mechanical switches.
This is one that is not so expensive: Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick -just as one example for both Windows and Apple.

I like the price. Do you feel like flying a Boeing with a stick is right? I'm just wondering. I love that it has rudder built in, so I don't have to buy a pedal setup.

By the way... what about throttles? https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/product ... drant.html
That one has 3 levers, but I would want to fly the King Air and the 747 as well. Could just get 2 but if you know of more...

No need for separate throttles. Finally you are sitting next to a PC sim whatever yoke you install. Better max out your GPU and RAM.

What?

No need for too much hardware. It will always be just a flight sim and not a real aircraft cockpit. However with more RAM or a good graphics card your computer will run better and the simulation will be more realistic.

Ok. Makes sense.
