Aviation infield guidance for newbies

Tue Sep 10, 2019 11:50 am

Hey everybody,

So I'm trying to put together a story that takes place during a commercial flight. As much as I studied hard all the procedures, I found myself defeated when it came to the details of a daily routine of the craft. Unfortunately, it's just my graduation diploma, so hiring a consultant is out of my range. I'm wondering if you guys could give me any directions on where to find any credible source that reveals INFIELD of the job?

How exactly does the pilot enter the plane? How long before the takeoff he supposed to do it? Does he step out of the cockpit during a cruise? (and what for, as a person)
Any transcripts of actual radio conversations of uneventful, random flights would be great too! (the ones I found were usually dramatic or eventful and I need basic).

Thank you in advance.
