Planes and beer???

Sun Jan 12, 2020 9:40 pm

Sitting at Lonerider near RDU drinking solid beer and watching planes land. Great place anytime, but especially on a mild January afternoon. Got me thinking. Any other similar places you all know about to combine two of my favorite things??

The Runway Bar at the Hilton Garden Inn at Heathrow between T2 and T3 comes to mind. Although it is entirely closed in. There is a balcony but it is permanently locked. I asked one of the bartenders about it and he said that every time there are a bunch of spotters up there, they all race outside whenever a notable aircraft movement is happening and it led to security concerns.
Next flight: 3/1 DL2834 BWI-ATL B739

You better hold your beer tight. Speaking from experience...
Instead of typing in "mods", consider using the report function.
Love how every "travel blogger" says they will never fly AA/Ethihad again and then says it again and again on subsequent flights.

Aeroplains in Wichita, ks has great beer. You can't watch airplanes take off or anything but it's a local hot spot. The bar is modeled off a wing with a leading edge and what not.

Used to be a great place next to KLAX, but closed now. Also one at KSTL.
