Found a DC-10 Bumper Sticker

Mon Jul 13, 2020 3:35 pm

Finally cracked open a book I purchased several months ago from a used bookstore. This was in there, a bumper sticker that was used as a book mark. Must be pretty old. The DC-10 had some issues early on and this may have been made as part of the PR campaign to address those issues.

The sticker has a blue background, with the side view of the plane. No airliner livery, just McDonnell Douglas. Around the plane are the words, “I’M PROUD OF THE DC-10”

Anyone know how old this thing is? More importantly, what’s a good adhesive to use so I can get it on my car. Will certainly turn some heads. Lol

Ebay may fetch you a price....that sticker on a Pinto back in the day would have been priceless.

This was part of the McDonnell Douglas PR campaign after AA191.

Along the lines, the company ran a publicity blitz with ads featuring their VP of Marketing & former Gemini/Apollo/Skylab astronaut Pete Conrad

Funny you could not post it yourself. This site is not user friendly for posting pictures if you don’t do it daily. Big issue..

A great find! Personally I think I would get it reproduced at a local printing shop - keep the original and get the $$$ on ebay!
