A320 Poster - Legal issues when selling?

Hi everyone,

In the past I've designed and printed aviation posters for myself. However my latest project has me wondering if I might offer this for sale.

I had an idea long ago to build up a poster in Illustrator showing every airline livery incarnation on an A320. When I started working on it I was expecting it would take me 5 years or so and I would probably give up before then. But Covid's extra free time pushed me from about 30% completion to 65%.

I am going to print this as a massive 3' x 6' poster for my work area. But with the time I've spent I might try to sell prints also. What are the legal issues of selling a poster with obviously so many individual airline names/titles/liveries?

If there's any whiff of a problem I won't go for it and just print it for myself but I thought I'd ask. I think it's going to be a stunner.

Thanks for any help!

I realized the image isn't showing unless you're on my computer. Here's the link. Thoughts?

Some airlines are more litigious than others. In the diecast world, Cathay Pacific (Dragonair) and American (which also owns US Airways trademarks) have been known to be more aggressive at protecting their brands from unauthorized use. Others, not so much. Worst that would probably happen though is you'd get a cease and desist letter.

Just whatever you do don't do one with the 777 and include the Peter Max special livery ;)

Wow, looks grate! Would be nice to make some sort of a timeline underneath, and place the airline in order of EIS. Great job, I'm sure you've got most of the airlines already! Curious to see the end result.

how were the aircraft created? Are they taken from photographs or from drawings you found online? If so, then you'll need the permission of the photographer or artist who created it. If you've drawn the liveries yourself then you should be fine.

I see the old SAA livery but not the current one, is there a reason for this?

Looks great!
