BA selling off First Class items as B747s disposed

Mon Nov 23, 2020 2:05 pm

https://loyaltylobby.com/2020/11/22/bri ... mber-23rd/

Apparently the B747 fleets retirement provoked a sale of first class surplus items. Shame there's no link to the sale ...there's a few things that would be very cool to own

I would buy a drink/food cart to wheel into my dining room when we can entertain again. Some fine China too would be awesome

Here you go:

https://www.whatabuy.co.uk/british-airways?fbclid=IwAR2knPU2afykAQy_HOBdxxb3hbYn7MuGaKddUOu8Y7p29NZjdunJnPQXihI

It is a terrible website though. Doesn't even render properly in Safari.
I only turn left when boarding aircraft. Well, mostly. All right, sometimes. OH OKAY - rarely.

To be clear BA are selling off catering from all cabin classes.
Let's hope they remember to save some stuff for when they do start flying at normal levels again. ;)

This website is terrible. It keeps timing out on me or half loading.

But thanks for the link! Will see what they have out there.

I managed to get hold of some nostalgic tat from the site earlier. But I was hoping to see some slightly more interesting items, like signs, seats, panels etc. Obviously these are worth more as genuine spare parts to airlines!

Bit of a stretch saying “B747” memorabilia. It could be from almost every other aircraft they operate.

Don't know what I'd do with a drinks trolley. Perhaps it would be worth buying if it was fully stocked with wine, whisky and champers though. :D I know Qantas did something similar when they recently retired their 747's.

Well I was on the Alfa train from the Algarve to Lisbon a year or so back, the food trolley was ex Air Europa and not the slightest attempt made to cover the UX name or logo up, so you'd be surprised where these things end up.

Very good point.
I once flew a former TAM shuttle service SDU-CGH in a F-100 with a food trolley from Royal Air Maroc.
Not even an attempt to cover it. In clear sight for anyone.

I once flew an AF EWR-CDG 744 flight in Tempo and noticed the Air Afrique livery embossed on the beige coffee and hot water thermos containers placed upon the service cart.

One time I flew on CA from SFO to PEK and they used drink cups with UA's (turnip) logo.

I have bought a few items from them and they are rather responsive and helpful. I was looking for specific seat location markers off certain aircraft and they were happy to assist.

Shipping in the UK is free but the rest of the world stuff is quite pricey. They wanted north of £200 to ship a bassinet to the US.

I tried buying some cabin blankets but the site said my postcode was bogus and wouldn't proceed.
