So, I have toured a sim facility before. It seems that if you are _exceptionally_ handy, you could take a discarded full motion simulator and rewire / repower it with off the shelf PC hardware!
If you ever visit the Delta Museum of Flight at their headquarters, you can reserve a seat on the 737-200 full-motion simulator. I imagine the simulator will become open again for future reservations in a post-COVID environment and when the museum facility is not being used as a COVID vaccine site.
There's also a growing segment of at-home motion chair simulators that I think will takeoff (no pun intended) with the rise of VR technology in gaming.
