Suitable for FS2020?

Fri Oct 15, 2021 9:28 pm

I’ve been well out of the Flight Simulator world for a long time.

I don’t have any PCs but could probably install windows 10 on on one of my Macs.

But are they enough:

Mac 1:
Dual 6 core Xeon X5690 3.46ghz (12 cores)
Radeon RX580 8 GB
128GB ram
2x M2 NVME SSD (2TB) on Sonnet card
1x Samsung 970 EVO 1TB

Mac 2:
Single 6 core X5690 Xeon 3.46ghz
32GB Ram (max possible 64gb)
1x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo 2TB SSD
3x 1TB HDDs
Radeon RX580 8GB.

I also have a 12 core trashcan Mac Pro 2.7ghz with dual AMD D700 GPUs (6gb each) but I’d prefer not to use that one as it is hard to upgrade storage in it unless I connect external drives and I read that Flight Sim 2020 needs plenty of storage. I also think for gaming those D700 are not as good as the RX580, but maybe in windows crossfire is working.

Mostly I use 2560x14440 screen resolution but do have one 4K screen as a second one on the higher spec Mac Pro.

I can’t easy upgrade the GPU more either, maximum would be Radeon VII 16gb.
