Any Idea what happened to great Circle Mapper

Be wondering why their website seems to have vanished. Anyone know what happened?

It's unavailable when I tried as well. Others are using https://www.greatcirclemapper.net/.

Man, if it's gone, Karl Schwartz had a really good run! 25 years is a long time for a hobby website.

That will be a huge loss if it is gone. Tried to use it last night and it didn't load.

Here it doesn't load either.

At least https://www.greatcirclemap.com/?routes= ... SH-SYD-FRA seems to be working... a similar tool that sprung up in 2017.

The server hosting gcmap.com is still down. Yep, we know.

It suffered a double-disk failure. Imagine an ETOPS diversion and the second engine flames out. That’s where we are: working through all the checklists and trying for the least-bad result. I’d channel Al Haynes but have too much respect for him to do so.

The site will be back ASAP, hopefully no more than another day or three. This outage will force some overdue upgrades in addition to a more reliable platform (this is only the third significant outage since the 1990s).

Hi -- not sure where to post this, so I'm starting here. Does anyone know why gcmap.com is down? The site hasn't been loading (for me) for several days, and I don't see anything about this on Twitter or in a search. Thanks in advance for any info.

First sunflight and now this? All our good simple resources are going away.

That's a relief. I nearly had a panic attack. I can't count the number of hours I get distracted from work using gcmap

Still down as of June 27, 2022 at 7:06 AM California time.

My absolute favorite flight tool!! I hope it gets fixed soon!!
