In my research on aircraft graveyards, I’ve discovered the world of aircraft part upcycling as many aircraft boneyards sell scrap parts to the companies that then upcycle them for huge profits. Having taken a look at some of these companies inventories, I’m quite interested in using/mentioning them for my research project as their goods look very interesting.
But this also got me thinking about what the avgeek/aviation professional industry think about it? Is it as good as those companies make them out to be? Or are they more of a fad that isn’t your kind of thing?

Admittedly I have no knowledge of how much of that activity goes on here at this site. But, I'll point you to a site where that type of activity is a specialty. If you have a Facebook account, just perform a search for 'Aviation Collector'. You're likely to find answers there.
