Peanuts And FS?

Fri Apr 12, 2002 10:21 pm

Okay, I've been wanting to ask this for a very long time. I finally get around to asking it. You probably will think I'm crazy, but I fly in FS about 2 a week, only on weekens.

Does anyone, or is anyone planning on taking off with your 737, 747, or whatever aircraft, and going to cruise altitude, and pulling out a plastic cup, with some peanuts and a small napkin and maybe a flight manual, or a magazine to read and just cruise for a while until it's time to descend? I got the idea when I saw some plastic cups similar to the ones they give you on the airlines, and I still have some small napkins from previous flights. Now if I can just figure out a good brand of peanuts to buy.

Regards

Well, on longer flights I do serve myself drinks and dinner. But I use real glasses and metal cuttlery. Only first-class stuff for the flightcrew  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I find its more economical to buy the 3.5 lbs. tin of planters at sam's club.
When in doubt, one B pump off

Aha! So there are people who do this! I was going to say about in-flight meals too. I've always wondered what it would be like to buy one of those frozen food dinners, so it comes in a tray like you get in economy class or something  Smile/happy/getting dizzy. I never thought of the first class option though. I should do that. Perhaps a cup of coffee later on. I guess I'm okay then right? There are others who do this in the FS community?

I do it mainly because I usually fly during the evening, which happens to be dinner time. Not so much to 'enhance the experience' as a way to combine my flying with something that needs doing anyway (on very long flights it would be sleeping  Smile/happy/getting dizzy ).

Just to make it more Realistic on longer flights, I'll whip out a microwave dinner to simulate dinner time in coach!  Big thumbs up
